A translated face-to-face conversation on smart glasses can end as a complete written record. On RayNeo iO, Real-Time Translation runs inside Live Captions: the other person's words appear translated on the lens, your words appear translated on your phone, and when the conversation ends, the original and translated text are saved side by side in Sessions, with each speaker labeled.

From there, the record keeps working. You can review it, generate a summary, share it, and come back to it through RayNeo AI after the conversation. The whole flow falls into three stages: a short setup before the conversation, a clear division of screens during it, and a set of tools afterward.

Before: three settings that shape the session

Translation lives inside Live Captions rather than in a separate app, so the setup is short.

    1. Pair once. The RayNeo App on your smartphone completes setup and Bluetooth pairing. After the first pairing, unfolding the temples reconnects the glasses automatically.
    2. Open Live Captions. Select it from the App List on the glasses, launch it from the Glasses tab in the RayNeo App, or say "Hey RayNeo" and ask for it.
    3. Turn on Translation and set both languages. In Live Captions settings, switch Translation on and set the language for each speaker.

Setting both languages correctly at this stage also shapes the record you keep, because the saved session pairs each original line with its translation in the languages you chose.

    During: who sees which translation

Face-to-face translation works because each person reads in their own language on a different screen.

Who is speaking Where the translation appears What it is for
The other person On your glasses, in your field of view You follow them while keeping eye contact
You On your phone screen The other person reads your words in their language
You, with the play button Spoken aloud from your phone The other person hears your words in their language

The display itself stays out of the conversation: iO's invisible AI display runs at 97% active display transparency, and the camera-free frame means nothing is filming the person across from you. While the microphones are in use, a white light glows at the temple tip, so the people around you can see the session is running.

After: how the conversation is saved

When the conversation ends, the complete transcript goes to Sessions. A translated session keeps both versions together: original and translated text sit side by side, displayed as conversation bubbles, with each speaker labeled.

That layout matters for anything you need to act on later. A number, a name, or a date can be read in the language it was spoken and in the language you understand, in the order the conversation happened, with no guessing about who said it.

The saved record also mirrors what happened on both screens. Lines the other person spoke, which you read on the lens, appear in their bubbles with the translation beside them. Lines you spoke, which they read on your phone, appear in yours. Nothing has to be pieced together from memory or from two separate apps.

It also makes the record useful to people who were not there. A colleague who speaks only one of the two languages can follow the whole exchange from the translated side, while anyone fluent in both can read the original wording next to it.

What you can do with a saved session

Saved Live Captions sessions are more than an archive. A translated conversation can be put to work in several ways:

    • Review the transcript. Scroll the full exchange as speaker-labeled bubbles, original beside translation.
    • Generate a summary. Turn a long conversation into a condensed overview without rereading every line.
    • Share the conversation record. Send the exchange to a colleague, a travel companion, or anyone who needs the details.
    • Query it with RayNeo AI. RayNeo AI answers questions from your saved records, translated Live Captions sessions included. A question such as "What were my action items from last week's meeting?" is the kind of query it handles, spoken through the glasses like any other request.

Meetings recorded with Voice Memo land in Sessions as well, each with its own transcript and AI summary, right next to your translated conversations. Language coverage and translation speed are covered in our guide to RayNeo translation glasses.

A routine for after each translated conversation

The saved session is most useful when it is handled while the conversation is still fresh.

    1. Open Sessions soon after the conversation ends. Read through the bubbles while the tone and context of each exchange are still fresh, so any line that deserves a follow-up stands out clearly.
    2. Generate a summary for longer conversations. A condensed version is easier to scan later than a long transcript, and it is a quick way to brief someone before they read the full record.
    3. Share the record with whoever needs it. Teammates, a travel partner, or the person you spoke with can work from the same text, and because the record holds both languages, the person you spoke with can read it in their own.
    4. Come back through RayNeo AI. When a detail from an earlier conversation comes up again, such as before a follow-up call or a second meeting with the same person, a spoken question through the glasses searches your saved records.

    FAQ

Is a conversation saved even when translation is switched off?

Live Captions saves the complete transcript in Sessions after every conversation, with or without Translation turned on. Translation adds the side-by-side layout of original and translated text.

Can the translation of my words be played out loud for the other person?

Tap the play button on the phone and your translated speech is spoken aloud for the other person to hear.

Where are my transcripts kept, and how is my data handled?

Live Captions transcripts, translated sessions, and saved Voice Memo recordings are all kept in Sessions. iO is built on Privacy by Design principles and GDPR standards, and system data is anonymized on-device before leaving your glasses.

Translation, captions, and a complete record of the conversation all come with RayNeo iO.
