With the recent global launch of the RayNeo X3 Pro, developers around the world are now bringing novel use-cases and applications to life. To support this growing ecosystem, it was essential for RayNeo to be on the ground at the world's leading XR hackathon: MIT Reality Hack.
The MIT Reality Hack is a cornerstone event for the XR industry, bringing together the world’s most proficient developers to build on the cutting edge of spatial computing. This January, RayNeo joined this community at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to support the hackers, engineers, and designers pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AR glasses hardware.
Throughout the event, our team—led by AR glasses specialist Max Manausa and product manager Jackman Zhang—focused on providing hands-on mentorship and SDK support for the RayNeo X3 Pro. The goal was simple: to see how the next generation of developers would leverage the Qualcomm Snapdragon® AR1 smart glasses platform to solve real-world problems.
The Developer Experience: Building on the X3 Pro
During the hackathon, we hosted a dedicated help desk for hardware troubleshooting and software onboarding. A key highlight was a technical session led by Max Manausa on the X3 Pro Developer Guide, which detailed how to leverage the device’s unique spatial capabilities and multimodal AI.

Developers were particularly drawn to the X3 Pro for its unique balance of form and function:
-
True AR in a Slim Form Factor: The ability to run complex spatial apps on a device that maintains the look of standard eyewear.
-
Qualcomm AR1 Integration: Efficient processing for "always-on" AI and SLAM/6DoF tracking.
-
Developer Flexibility: Bridging the gap between standard Android-based development and advanced spatial computing.
Award-Winning Innovation: Project Spotlights
The intensity of a 72-hour "sprint" often reveals the true potential of hardware and those that create for it. Out of the 3 teams building on RayNeo, two secured major honors at the final awards ceremony:
FarmHand: Silver – Best In Hack (Grand Prize)

Winning the Silver Grand Prize and an honorable mention in the Sustainability track, FarmHand created a precision agriculture tool. By utilizing the X3 Pro’s spatial awareness, the team enabled users to monitor crop health and environmental data through 3D overlays mapped directly onto the physical environment.
Forget Me Not: Best AR Utility (Qualcomm Sponsored)

Securing Best AR Utility and 2nd Place in the XR Health and Wellness track, this team integrated their proprietary Estuary software with the X3 Pro. They developed a context-aware, memory-backed assistant designed to help users recall information and recognize surroundings in real-time.
ScriptAR: Immersive Education

The ScriptAR team utilized the RayNeo SDK to develop a functioning language-learning application. The project showcased how 6DOF AR and AI language learning can transform education by placing interactive translations and linguistic cues directly into the user’s field of vision.
Strategic Collaboration with Qualcomm
Our time at MIT was strengthened by our close coordination with the Qualcomm team. By aligning our support priorities, we ensured that developers could fully utilize the synergy between RayNeo hardware and Qualcomm’s AR1 chip. This collaboration continues beyond the hackathon, with Qualcomm and RayNeo supporting each other in future high-impact projects.

Empowering the Next Generation: The RayNeo Innovator Program
The feedback gathered from these elite developers is already being used to refine our SDK documentation and onboarding resources. To ensure the momentum from MIT continues, we have identified top-tier candidates to join the RayNeo Innovators Program; our close group of developers and industry-leaders paving the way with RayNeo devices.
Through this program, our developers will receive continued technical support and hardware access to help turn their ambitions into fully realized spatial computing solutions.
We would like to thank the organizers at MIT Reality Hack, our partners at Qualcomm, and the incredible developer community for an inspiring week of innovation.
